True to Tradition
Quality and safety are top priorities at Inova Loudoun Hospital. That is why we take particular pride in two recent achievements: a 5-Star Rating for our Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and a three-year accreditation with commendation for our cancer program.
These awards are significant. Our nursing center is one of only seven nursing homes in Northern Virginia to receive this 5-Star Rating, the highest rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. There are more than 1,600 Commission on Cancer-accredited cancer programs in the United States and Puerto Rico. They represent close to 30 percent of all hospitals. (Learn more about these awards below.)
It’s especially wonderful to receive these accolades on the 100th anniversary of our hospital’s opening. Our founders envisioned a hospital that served the growing community’s needs. The awards are proof that we are living up to those expectations.
To celebrate our quality care present and past, please join us on June 23. Our 100th birthday party, which will have an early 1900s feel, will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. at Ida Lee Park Festival Field. There will be many special guests, including jugglers, stilt walkers, caricature artists and a period impersonator. See below for more information. You won’t want to miss it! |

Five Stars for Nursing and Rehab Center
Facility Receives Highest Government Rating
Inova Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has achieved a 5-Star Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
That is the highest government rating for a nursing home. Three factors contribute to the rating: health inspections, quality measures and staffing. The Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is one of only seven nursing homes in Northern Virginia with the 5-Star Rating.
“The 5-Star designation is an achievement,” states Elizabeth Kaeser, RN, MSN, LNHA, Administrator of the ILNRC. “This says to our patients and residents that we have reached a level of quality that exceeds standard and that we are among the top-rated nursing homes in our state.”

Cancer Program Accreditation
Rigorous Inspection Part of Accreditation Process
The cancer program at Inova Loudoun Hospital has been granted a prestigious honor: three-year accreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. The CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival rates and quality of life for cancer patients. Its membership includes Fellows of the American College of Surgeons and 49 national organizations that reflect the full spectrum of cancer care. To receive a three-year accreditation, a facility must undergo a rigorous on-site evaluation by a physician surveyor. The evaluation examines cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, community outreach and quality improvement. A facility also receives a compliance rating for all other standards. There are more than 1,500 CoC-accredited cancer programs in the United States and Puerto Rico. These represent close to 30 percent of all hospitals.
